Derek Jeter Bio

I decided to pick Derek Jeter for my biography because I'm a big Yankees fan. Derek plays shortstop for the Yankees so I wanted to know more about his life. After I read the book, I like his person and know he's a gentleman.

Derek Sanderson Jeter was born on June 26, 1974. He was born in Pequannock, NJ but moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan when he was four years old. By the age of 6, his grandmother introduced him to baseball and he began rooting for the Yankees. He played baseball in high school and was named High School Player of the year. He was picked up by the Yankees right from high school.

As a Yankee he practiced and practiced. He watched other players like Cal Ripkin Jr. to learn from them. He worked hard and didn't want anything handed to him. He wanted to earn the position. He had dedication and a good sense of humor.

My character is known as a fantastic athlete. His contribution is to baseball, but his personal life is special. He shows that hard work gets you far. He is a good person that kids can look up to as well as other athletes.

I want to be like Derek Jeter. I would love to be a hard working Yankee, too. I hope I'm picked to become a Yankee out of high school.
