Every girl endures relationship challenges and hardships with different guys. What stands out to me is when I got blessed with a guy that is willing to help out, and do anything he can to make me smile I have longed for that. The person I am choosing to describe is my best friend, soul mate and supporter; my fiancé Ryan Anstine. We have known each other since we were little kids; his mom was my babysitter when I was growing up. We had been close friends from the very beginning; even in school I had his back and he had mine if there was anything needed. Over the years he and I separated paths and did not see each other or speak to one another. A year ago we got in contact with one another, now engaged and truly happy. Ryan is the one person that has stepped up and jumped right in without even a hesitation Having a best friend, or someone in my life that is willing to do the very best they can to help me and give me the smile I truly longed for.
Ryan has one of those charismatic personalities that are hard to find in the present world. He is not very close with all of his family; he has not been supported or given a chance with too much in life due to his Cerebral Palsy. He is currently taking classes through Ashford University right next to me. He is majoring in Business Management for restaurant ownership. One thing that I’ve always admired about Ryan is no matter what life throws at him he never gives up, I admire his strengths and his determination in life. Even though he’s had Cerebral Palsy since being a little boy only three years old, and he was told that he would never be able to walk or have a normal life, he still continues to always look on the bright side of things. Many people that go through something like that become depressed and withdrawn, or just want to quit. But because of Ryan’s cheery disposition, you would’ve never known he’d ever gone through so much at such a young age. Even today, he has this uncanny ability to let things roll off his back and keep smiling even when he is frustrated. This is something I am learning to try and adapt in my own life when family things get hard.
Ryan has the smoothest, tannest skin like a guy that has worked outside all day long. On his right arm is a tattoo of a cross with purple smoke all around it, in the center sits a heart that has flames of fire surrounded by yellow stars shining bright, and above are his initials R. K. A. The left arm sits a star that is black as the night sky with bars of coal black encircled around the star. He has short blondish brown hair; in the sun it shines like the golden sands, with a clean shaved beard to match his golden hair. He is skinny and tall, walking with a crimple stride caused by his Cerebral Palsy. Ryan’s green eyes light up when he looks at me, as if you turned on a light and kept it on all day. He has an amazing smile; in addition to having sparkling white teeth, he has one of those warm, inviting smiles that instantly makes my heart melt and makes me want to smile back at him. During the week he wears dark blue pants and dark blue shirts as he goes to work for the county court house. On the weekends he is in some kind of shorts or sweats, and a t-shirt showing muscles that ripple when he flecks his arms. He smells of strong cologne, and when he speaks to me his voice is sweet and calming, like a breeze across my face. When I look at Ryan I do not see his condition, I see strength and love. When he holds me close, I feel his warmth cover me like a blanket.
