Today, Diebolds market value is 2,785.7 (in Millions) which is second to their biggest competitor NCR at 7,829.6 (in Millions). They still have a large market value just not the largest (Hoovers.com).

One way that Diebold is adapting to different market trends is by updating their products to keep their customers satisfied. They focus on CRM, customer relationship management, to keep up with the different customer trends. Banks continue to build relationships with their customers through the ATM channel, which is the highest traffic area. The CRM allows the bankers to take advantage of the extensive data collections to "craft" individual marketing programs aimed directly at the customer. According to Alan Falconer, director of global system sales at Diebold, Financial institutions have been preparing for targeted marketing by collecting data. Now the intense competition in those financial markets and the push to sell more products to existing customers are leading bankers to discover the hidden value of the data warehouse (Diebold.com). The new CRM allows the bank to create an individualized on-screen marketing message for the customer, through a partnership with Naviant Technology Solutions. The bank can now send direct messages to each customer based on demographics, existing relationships, or financial transaction history. Experience has shown that personal customer contact is the best marketing approach. It can help the bank reconnect with customers at a critical point, when they customers are actually thinking about their banking relationships.
