  1. Introduction

This essay will evaluate the various aspects of different authors, acts, surveys and articles. As the recycling rates are increasing day by day in UK so certain actions or steps is mandatory to take so as to reduce the household wastages. In this essay we will learn about how government is taking actions and what methods need to be adopted to overcome this challenge. There will be some arguments which have to be faced but the aim is to help to control this issue.

Act of Environmental protection (1990) recommended that: “Each waste collection authority has the duty to arrange the household waste collection from any premises.”

Act of Environmental protection (1990) ensured that: “arrangement in connection with those premises involves, alternate arrangements are also there or cost of doing such act will be high.”

Alison (2011) analysed that: “almost 70% of 2000 UK citizens agreed that government must take proper actions against the change in climate even if to use the law in order to change the behaviour of individuals.”  

Waste Management World reviewed that: “Government has set the target to local authorities of composting and recycling the household waste around 50% by 2020.”

Barr Ford & Gilg (2003) suggested that: “Government can provide recycling facilities if targets have to be met but keeping the attitudes of resident on mind as it is important.”

Survey was conducted of almost 985 residents in Exter towards waste management.

Survey demonstrated that: “By the mutual understanding between residents and recycling services, the result came out that recycling must be carried out by using wheel bins.”
