Many different people have their own definition of diversity. Through intensive research I have come to conclusion that diversity to me would be defined as the quality of having many different parts which could vary into many different categories ranging from race to culture to religion. Diversity seems to be very important in our society, not only that but the whole globe. It seems to me that since diversity is being taught and imbedded into every person its what is going to bring peace to the world, um I think not. I really think that diversity is highly essential for everyone to consider everyone else's differences, but there will be still issues of prejudice, discrimination, and stereotypes in every individual, some more than others but still relevant.

Diversity is taught to teachers because we must know that everyone is totally different nowadays. There is so much that we have to consider in the classroom so that we will not offend anyone and accommodate to those needed. But of course I believe that you should not single anyone out nor favor anyone, but try to be equal to everyone while keeping in mind the many differences that we have. As teachers we are also taught that there are different learning styles, communication, etc. that we have to keep in mind as well. I as a teacher will most definitely consider all that I have mentioned. I will try to care for each of my students and get to know them well enough that they will come to talk to me about their own personal accommodations because of their religion, sexual orientation, learning style, etc.
