Are you aware that someone could be spying on you right now? Are you aware that NSA (national security agency) can be listening in on your phone calls? Are you also aware that they may check your e-mail? If not you should be. Secrets may no longer stay a secret any more. I don't know about you but I don't agree with domestic spying and I think it should be stopped.
George bush authorized the NSA to tap the phone calls and other communication methods made by people U.S. not too long after September 11th. He kept it a complete secret for almost four years. Not only did bush keep it secret he never even cleared it with the courts. I don't know for sure if this has been proven but by Bush broke the laws by doing this. His lawyer said that he is not technically breaking the law but he's just a lawyer to me and he could easily be lying. Not only did bush and NSA keep this a secret, New York Times kept their story a secret for around a whole year. I'm not too sure why it was kept a secret for a year by New York Times but why would a story that big be kept a secret for as long as it was.
The NSA has been tapping phones in this country for close to five years now. Who knows who they have tapped? Who knows what they have heard. Who has had any clue about what they have been doing for the past five years other than them and the president? The New York Times found out later but that's outside of the point. The point is that we will never know the truth about what information they got from our phone calls. Bush says that the phone tapping was meant to find terrorists in this country. How do you expect us to believe that they were looking to find terrorists? He didn't even tell us that he was doing this? He could have at least said something to warn us that he was monitoring our phone usage of our citizens. For all we know the NSA could be listening in on conversations.
Not only are our phones being tapped they are also monitoring our email. If it looks suspicious to them they will read it and see what is in it. Email for some people is just something for amusement and entertainment. These people use email mostly for sending stuff like funny jokes and websites to one another. If someone sent something that pissed off the person reading it who knows what would happen. And then there are people that have a lot of private stuff in their email. They could have anything varying from a love
