The positives of E-commerce are divided into the benefits it provides to society, consumers, and organizations. The advantages of E-commerce extend broadly. One important aspect of E-commerce that is noteworthy is that it, in majority of businesses, increases sales and decreases costs through the use of an electronic medium. For consumers, the advantage is the buying process. The purchase of company products could not be any easier for customers today. With the ubiquity in accessing the Internet, consumers are able to search the Internet in nearly every setting in day-to-day environments. E-commerce provides customers with a policy to search product information through global markets with a wider range of choices. This makes comparison and evaluation of products easier and more efficient. Cheaper services and products is one of the benefits for consumers who purchase online. Examples are e-books, music and audio clips, software, games, and distance education delivered via the Internet. In addition, costs and delivery time can be saved by buyers when they purchase digital goods and services.
By telecommunicating, individuals can work and implement their purchases at home rather than traveling. Public services such as education, health care, and social service also benefit from E-commerce. For example, rural doctors and nurses can access professional information and the latest health care technologies. Non-profit organizations, including government services, also benefit from E-commerce which supports the payment of tax refunds and pensions securely and quickly. In large, e-commerce makes products and services more superfluous and available without geographic limitations.
Due to the extended reach of the Internet, business organizations are able to display information worldwide, explore new markets, and create opportunities. Through the Internet businesses now offer high levels of customer information, a wide range of choices, and details for individuals to search and compare. Some build-to-order companies such as Dell Computer Corp can even provide a competitive advantage by inexpensive customization of products and services. (Dell 6) The internet can break down geographic limitations, and reaches narrow markets that traditional businesses have difficulties accessing.
