Bridget Jones 2: The edge of reason just might be the best movie that had portrayed real love despite of it all. It features Renee Zellweger in the role of Bridget Jones, a British Journalist who's a madly in love with her boyfriend, Mark Darcy, portrayed by Colin Firth.
Their relationship is almost perfect, until Rebecca, an Australian lawyer, was assigned to London to work with Mark. Bridget loses all her nerves to this new woman thinking that the only reason why Mark was keeping her is because he was only waiting for the right woman to come along.
Obviously Bridget was wrong, her belief only got worse because of what her friends say. She finally broke up him and she left for London to do an assignemnt with her ex-lover which was played by Hugh Grant. She almost fell for him the second time around if not for the abrupt appearance of Thai prostitute.
About to return to London, she was held at the airport for possession
of illegal drugs which was planted unto her package. She was held at the Bangkok women's correctional for a couple of days until her name clears up. All hell has broken lose for her until Mark came to the rescue.
Mark on the other hand, upset with Bridget's ex-lover, didn't want any tinge of appreciation from Bridget thinking that she was in love the other man. He acted cold on her which made her think that he doesn't love her anymore.
Upon landing to London, the upset Bridget seeks out to her friends once more whom told her the real score on Mark Darcy's heroism. Wanting him back, she races out to his office in front of the ambassadors of the different country, all wet from the rain. Mark takes him out of the room and finally proposes to her.
End of story.
Typical as it may seem at first but the Edge of Reason is more than just flirting with the opposite sex like the first installment. Bridget was more or less mature on this one, with just a little weakness due to doubt.
