Abstract
This research is entirely conducted focusing the spreading of departmental store and its popularity over the last two decade. It shows the reason behind emertgrnvr of departmental store and replace the total idea of shopping of many. It also shows departmental store customer’s age range and expense they do in departmental store purchasing product from there. It also talked about signicance to find out what sectors that departmental store must improve so that people can get greater and good service. . My hypotheis proved right in all area that I been expected. People are purchasing more from those smart shops. Some day local retail bazar will extinct and will be totally replaced by departmental store and multi functioning shops. Home delivery service is newly added with departmental store which also accelerated the growth of departmental store .

Introduction
In this dynamic and fast moving world anything that is hassle-free is always the first priority for many. Having an easy life style become important these days mainly because a person carries lot of works in their work schedule that it always became hard for them to get everything done. Shopping is a major chore in the daily schedule of an individual and most of the items that they shop are unique and different in type so what else can be fascinating for them if they can shop verity of products in one place, this is where the idea of departmental store get birth. According to legal financial encyclopedia “A large retail store offering a variety of merchandise and services and organized in separate departments|.”(Houghton Mifflin, 1997) Initially it was family name Hudson’s business idea and get popularity soon in America and Europe. This phenomenon of departmental store spread over in very short time in our country. This idea of arranging different kind of product in one place for customs to purchase changed the total retail selling process in our country in last two decades. As a third world country this idea got introduce in lately 80’s after invented in two hundred years back in America. Now numerous brands are being launched in Dhaka as well in other divisional capitals. These new brands along with all existing brands helping departmental store to emerge slowly and get possession of retail markets. In a research it conducted by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics showed that revenue earned in Fiscal year 2015-16 is twice the amount earned in last five fiscal years. It shows that it is replacing local bazars as well conventional retail habit of people.
Background
This research is mostly conducted focusing on the key factors that accelerate the spreading of the popularity of departmental store over Bangladesh in last few decades. Bangladesh is a developing country and slowly moving towards a good economy as a result quality of life style of the people of this region improving in every single day. People are preferring easy life style and always avoiding hassles. Therefore they prefer to shop from departmental shop more as it is convenient to shop verity types of products as our needs are different under a single roof. In our country departmental store started its journey with a brand name Agora (Rifles Square) back in 1996. Then it followed by some other successors Arong,Meena Bazar, PSQ etc. The number of retail shop was very few till millennium and then it started to increase. Some New brands started their journey meanwhile and also extinct by losing in this competitive market. At the beginning it was a shopping place for the rich and upper middle class family but now people from almost all economical class visits to shop from departmental stores. Total retail selling market shifted from conventional way of shopping which from local bazars to departmental stores. there are various reason of preferring departmental store over all these regular retail shopping places through my research i ll tried to find out significance of these reasons and analyses them what they depicts.
