Weightlifting Bench - Iron Man Mega Bench

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

Design a weightlifting bench that holds a maximum of 600 pounds of free weights. The bench must have the ability to fold up for incline lifts and ability for the user to use it also for a dual leg lift, along with the regular bench press. The incline lift has to be adjustable according to the size of the user and the position he/she prefers.

IDEATION

DATA GATHERING/RESEARCH

* Marketing determines the average income, demographics, body weight, fitness type, and job of potential customers.

* Data will be gathered through the use of surveys, telemarketing and other questioners about the product and other types of products relating to the product.

* Data on the actual and projected numbers of weightlifters, fitness clubs, home fitness users, and gyms.

* Data will be gathered on other products relating to the product, similar or the same.

SCHEDULING/ PRELIMINARY IDEAS

* Data gathered in the problem identification stage will be used.

* Design team will meet to brainstorm.

* Exchange of ideas, notes, designs, and other possible solutions.

* Exchange of ideas about similar products and what we can do to make ours better, more affordable, meaning low cost of production also.

PRELIMINARY IDEAS

* Idea about the bench sliding and ability to list the chair up (incline) to get in position for an incline lift.

* The bench will probably weight around 100-150 pounds for easy lifting.

* Setup ability, meaning the user can take it apart and put it back together.

* The distance between uprights outside to outside should be anywhere from 45" to 50"

* Deluxe padded seats, cushioned and leathered.

* Metal body frame for lifetime guarantee.
