I think Equality is the most important tenet of the American creed to me. As an immigrant, I think everyone should be treated in the same way equally no matter what race you are. Racial discrimination still exists in the society today. For example, the average income of white men is at least five times more than the average income of black men. Why is it much easier for white people to get a higher level job? Because white people are the only group that are considered Native Americans. However, there may be a lot more people who work much harder never have chance to get promotion because they have different colors of skin. People are born as equal, and no one is better than another. I think every culture has its own value, and it should be respected. How we determine a person is by his personality but not skin. In addition, people who are disabled are supposed to be treated equal as well. We have no right to prejudge people by their look or physical problems. ItЎЇs very important to the society. Equality can let everyone show their talent and express their opinions. Only when equality truly exists, people are really free. I remember that one of my teachers strongly believes that men and women should be equal. She doesnЎЇt mean that men and women can do exactly the same tasks, but they should be treated equally. Some people think women have less ability than men, even though they are from the same country or background. ItЎЇs important to see every person individually regardless of gender, race, and age, and this is equality.
