Computers are now dominating our current world. we are getting more and more More and more people everyday are given access to using them, and it is crucial to understand that computers are not knowledge should not be abused in any way.

First thing's first, let me tell you the difference between hacking and cracking. Most people overuse the term hacking, and think it as breaking into someone elses' computer, stealing control, etc. That is not hacking , that is CRACKING. Hacking is is merely understanding computers; a hacker is someone who wants to find gain knowledge of computers. Crackers are people who abuse their computer knowledge and to gain others' private information, such as credit cards numbers, passwords, etc.

This essay mainly focuses on the ethics of the fact that one should not crack another's computer. Knowing how to do something and actually doing it are two completely different things. I know I can run over people with cars, but do I do it? NO! Stealing information is the same concept. Moral ethics prevent us from doing something stupid like that.

But why do humans do it? This may be a slight exaggeration, but if you think about it: it's all about power. The more power one person has, the more they want it. If I have a lot of power but I see someone overpowering me, I go and get more power to overwhelm them with more power. When you steal information and you can't get caught, you feel that you are invincible and have a lot of power. Lets say for example you steal someone's Paypal account, and get 100 bucks. You feel good, but then you try to steal others because you want more than a mere 100 bucks. But eventually, you WILL get caught.

I know this paper isn't very structured, but it is a mere warning. If you abuse computer technology, it may have some gains, but the losses are much more severe. If you get away from abusing your computer knowledge, consider yourself extremely lucky. But if you attempt to do it again, there are no guarantees. I hope crackers take this warning seriously. If I see you in jail, don't say I didn't tell you so.
