Evolving Myself

Within each human lies the instinct to evolve. Our desires draw the learning experiences that cause us to discern what we like and don’t like, what we want and don’t want and through this process we learn and grow and evolve to realize our full potential. Our lifetimes are spent searching for the center of the maze, the center of ourselves. Much of that time we spend running frantically around the periphery of self, not realizing that the hedges we can’t see over and that keep us hemmed in, are self-made. They are constructs of the mind. We are not aware that if we want to get to the center, we have to sometimes question the way the arrows are pointing.

Unfortunately, a lot of what I’ve been taught by my well-meaning parents, teachers, and clergy, is not conducive to self-realization. I’ve been taught how to fit in, get by, and do what I’m told. Growing up, I can say that I am an obedient child. I always do what my parents told me to do even in deepest heart of mine, a little voice is shouting and wanted to explode. My parents rule is my rule. It is like living in a box and stepping outside is a serious crime. But in every life, there will come a time that we have to start thinking for ourselves. It came to me. I stepped out of the box. It feels good and for the first time in my life, I have felt real happiness. It signals the start of my inner journey, my self-realization.

My inner journey is the only authentic journey for me precisely because it is mine. All growth happens on the inside. Each of us carries within ourselves meaning and purpose. It is only from inner explorations that I uncover meaning and purpose and can fulfill my full potential.

Self-Realization is a unique human gift to us that allow me to get up in the observation deck and see the big picture of my life. It’s from this vintage point that I clearly see how dynamic and creative my life can be. By thinking about my thinking, I can see the illusions and evolve to know the world and myself better. Remember, the universe is growing, changing, and most importantly evolving, just like everything else on earth. People, families, societies, institutions, politics, everyone evolves following the same undeniable and irreversible pattern. By accepting, cooperating with and putting my belief in what is real, I leap to the heart of my human experience. As much as I would
