1931 EWOS was first registered i Sweden in 1931. The founders were Erik Berggren, Victor Weyde and Olle Sjцstedt. The initials formed the company name EWOS.
1935 The Swedish pharmaceutical company ASTRA acquired EWOS. This year is regarded as the official first year of EWOS history. The business of EWOS was focused on feed additives for the agricultural sector.
1949 Norsk Landbrukskjemi, later known under the name EWOS as, was established as the first subsidiary, outside Sweden.
1957 EWOS received an enquiry to supply vitamin premixes to fish. The breeding of salmon fry for stocking, so called 'compensatory fry' was compulsory for the states around the Baltic Sea as the development of hydroelectric production facilities made natural spawning in the rivers difficult for the fish. During the next consecutive years EWOS developed the first complete dry fry feed pellets.
1960 The first successful feed trial was pursued.
1966 Laxforsen Research station was established in the south-west of Sweden.
1970 EWOS Ltd. in UK started as the first EWOS company outside Scandinavia.
1979 Alfa-Laval was the new owner of the EWOS Group.
1986 EWOS Canada Ltd. was established.
1987 CULTOR acquired EWOS from Alfa-Laval.
1988 EWOS Research Station Lцnningdal was opened in Norway.
1989 EWOS entered the Chile market. First through an agent and later by the establishment of EWOS Chile S.A.
EWOS as in Norway opened its new feed production factory in Floroe.
FarmControl was launched as a farm management tool.
1990 ISO 9000 standards apply in EWOS' feed factories and VEXTRA Gold was launched as the first high energy feed with 41% protein and 29% fat.
1991 EWOS became totally focused on fish feed.
1992 VEXTRA Omega became the second-generation high energy feeds with 38% protein and 33% fat.
1995 EWOS Technology Centre was opened in Scotland.
