Fairview Tournament
Fairview vs. Seiling
The Jackets took on the Seiling Wildcats in the first round of the annual Fairview Tournament. The Wildcat pitching overwhelmed the inexperienced Yellowjackets. The Yellowjackets were not able to score any runs on four hits. The Wildcats ended up winning the game by a score of 9-0.
Players with hits for the Jackets were Dillon Baldwin with a single, Baxter Stewart with single, Braden Stephens with a single, and Tommy Regier with a single.
Fairview vs. Alva JV
The Jackets took on the Goldbug's JV squad in the second round of play in the tournament. The Yellowjacket offense unleashed a fury of runs throughout the game. The Goldbugs could not keep up and ended up getting run ruled by the Jackets. The Jackets ended up winning the game by a score of 18-6.
Baldwin went 2-5 with a double, Stewart went 1-4, Kaleb Kemp went 1-4, Mitchell Pembrook went 2-3 with a home run, Matt Day went 1-1 with a double, and Montie Barton went 1-1. Numerous other Jackets scored or reached base off Goldbug errors. Stewart was the winning pitcher in the game.
Fairview vs. Mooreland
The Jackets took on Moorland in the consolation championship of the tournament. The Jackets got down early after Mooreland scored eight runs in the first three innings and the Jackets had scored only one. The Jackets came out in the fifth inning and scored four runs, trying to get a rally started. Mooreland was able to hold off the Jackets and claim the consolation prize on their way to the 13-5 victory.
Baldwin was 2-4 in the game, Stewart was 1-1, Kemp went 1-3, Pembrook was 2-2, and Ryan Webb went 1-3 in the game. Braden Stephens was the losing pitcher in the game.
The Jackets will play in the Hennessey Tournament on April 5-7. The Jackets will play two games on the Wednesday and Thursday and one game on Friday.
