This is a fictional book that talks about Catskills Mountains that are haunted and it tells us about the story of a farmer named Rip van Winkle lives in a small village at the bottom of the mountains.
Rip is popular with the children and the animals also like him, Rips wife is a terrible woman she is a very angry woman. Rip has a dog his name is Wolf. Rip and Wolf decide one day to go and climb one of the mountains. They walk up a path into the mountains when suddenly he hears a noise. They follow the old man and they see many other mans as the old man, these people where playing with a ball and Rip find it interesting. Rip fall asleep and when he woke up he searches for his gun and Wolf but he cannot find them both. He walks down the mountain because he wants to go to his village, the village has changed everyone in there was new for him, his house is mess and his family didn't live there anymore. Rip has seen a woman named Judith Garnier, this girl is his daughter. Rip lives with his family in a very happy way he has nothing to worry about. Sometimes on summer the people hear a sound of a thunder from the Catskill Mountains and they think about the old spirits.
The book tells us to be cautious when going out in a adventure. This book isn't good in my opinion because is too fast and sad. The saddest part is when he looks for Wolf but Wolf doesn't appear.
