The five divisions of APA that interest me are; Psychotherapy, Rehabilitation Psychology, Society for the Psychological study of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual issues, American Psychology-Law Society, and Behavior Analysis.

One of the division that interested me is Division 29- The Division of Psychotherapy of the American Psychological Association. The are of study for this division is mental health. This Division interested me because I have always found mental health to be (personality disorders etc.) to be extremely fascinating, and one of the parts of psychology that I would love to study more in depth.

The second division that interested me is Division 22- Rehabilitation Psychology. The area of study for this division is clinical service, research, teaching, or administration. This division interested me because I really knew nothing about it. I had heard of Rehabilitation Psychology before but did not really have a very good understanding of what it entitled.

The third division that interested me is Division 44- Society for the psychological study of lesbian, gay and bisexual issues. The area of study for this division is accreditation, bisexuality, professional standards, public policy, youth, families, ethnic/racial issues, and science. This division really interested me. It caught my eye almost as soon as I looked through all of the different divisions. I am strongly for the rights and privileges of gays, lesbians and bisexuals. I do not believe that they should be discriminated against just because of their sexual orientation so this division caught my attention right away.

The fourth division that interested me is Division 41- American Psychology- Law Society. The are of study for this division is the contributions of psychology to the understanding of law and legal institutions, the education of psychologists in legal matters and law personnel in psychological matters, and the application of psychology in the legal system. This division also interested me as soon as I saw it. Forensics is part of this division and Forensic Psychology is my major. I have always, since the time I can remember had an interest in psychology and law so I wanted to find something that linked together both. This division is the link to those two which is why it interested me so much.

The fifth Division that interested me is Division 25- Behavior Analysis. The area of study for this division is basic research, both animal and human, in the experimental analysis of behavior. This division really didn't interest my much until last year in my High School psychology class. Once I learned about it however it really started to interest me, this is also an area of psychology that I would love to and hopefully will study into a little more.

One of the many times that an understanding of Psychology could have helped not only me me but also my grandparents, was when my mother and my father left me. Even though this is just one event in my life it has spanned over almost the entire life.

I was born when my mother and my father were sixteen. They married shortly before I was born and stayed married for almost three years. Shortly before I turned three my mother and father divorced and my mother left. She went to live with my grandmother for a little while. During that time I was able to see my mother on almost a weekly bases. Unfortunately that only lasted for about a year. After that my mother was more interested in her numerous boyfriends than she was in a child. I started only seeing her once a month and eventually only once every few months. Eventually after only two or three years I started not seeing my mother at all. She started driving a semi and skipped from state to state and from husband to husband. She would call me maybe once or twice every 6 months send a letter or two a year, I
