Florida State University is more than just a world-class academic institution preparing you for a future career. We are a caring community of well rounded individuals who embrace leadership, learning, service, and global awareness. With this in mind, which of these characteristics appeal most to you and why?

I would say leadership. I'm a strong-minded individual who likes to lead. Not only am I more than comfortable leading, I embrace it, helping other individuals around me, encouraging peers to achieve whatever they put their minds to. I'm a very passionate person; I have always dreamed, ever since I was a little girl, to become a surgeon and (surgeons must be strong leaders!) I organized a trip to New Orleans with my youth group as a missionary trip to help the needy in New Orleans. I came up with the idea when we were praying for the people who lost their homes. Twenty-four out of the twenty-six people in my youth group adored the idea and we spent the next 3 days there helping build houses, and we were handing out food and water to the less fortunate. And after the trip every single individual from my group thanked me afterwards for being part of that effort to help the less fortunate and making a difference that, even though it took a little effort from us, it benefited them in an unimaginably important way.

This is one of many great things to expect from me in the future of this University. The one thing in life I never fail to take advantage of is opportunity. When opportunity presents itself you have to grasp it. Being a part of the Florida State family is one of the biggest opportunities a young adult like myself can ask for, and to be given the honor to study at FSU would be a dream come true. I am also very determined, and once I set my mind to achieve something, I do my best to not just achieve my goal, but exceed it. Not only do I feel I can contribute to FSU, I feel FSU can contribute to me as a young adult with a reachable dream.

If I am accepted into the Florida State University, I hope to further quench my thirst for biology , while also studying to become an oral surgeon. I would like to change the world or make a significantly positive contribution in some way or another, whether it is the discovery of a new procedure, or an innovative cure. I would make a great contribution to FSU because I am a hard working person with a charitable heart and an open mind to all cultures, races,
