Food: Not Only Something to Eat
The meaning of culinary arts is the practice or manner of preparing food or the food so prepared (Definitions). The final project I chose to work on is in the culinary arts. Many religions and countries find food more than just something to eat but an art; they also find the best ingredients to prepare these meals.
Many cultures and countries find the art of cooking relaxing and a hoppy. The art of cooking has been around for ages and is still being perfected by millions on global scale. Preparing meals fo guests and family takes hours of preparation and the use of the niest ingredients. Food is not only something to eat, but my exploring food is like exploring cultures. Different types of food are eaten in different parts of the world like: Italian, Greek, Chinese, Indian, Latin, Mexican, and many others. Not only is food merely for nourishing the body, what we eat and with whomever we eat with can inspire and strengthen the bonds between individuals, cultures, and even countries (Cooking).
One country that I will illustrate and explain about is the French, and their views of cooking and eating. The French are widely known for their desire for food. Because back in the 1800's 80% of the French were farmers and have always loved food, this tradition has lasted through the ages and into the hearts of most French people. In early 19th century in France, the food one would eat displayed their social class and power (Berstein). The better the food the more powerful of wealthy you were. So, by looking at France's past, we have determined why cooking and eating well is so looked upon in France.
To the Chinese they say that the consumption of food is a vital part of the chemical process of life is to state the obvious. The Chinese chefs believe in portraying their character. They may make the food into animals or intricate designs this is expressing the chefs character. They also prepare many different dishes because the people eating should just have one type of food they should have an experience of many different entrees (Hui, Frank)
There are many ways and methods to cook food, and over the years the advancement in technology has made it easier, faster, and newer ways of preparing it. Many ethnic groups have their own way of preparing the food and use different ingredients and other groups have adopted some of those ideas. Many
