Fourth Quarter Book Report: Mother Cabrini Missionary to the World

In New Orleans around the year of 1946 we learn the virtues of Mother Cabrini through the eyes of a non-catholic named Susan. Mother Cabrini showed sympathy for the immigrants because they had a hard life. Through times of suffering Mother Cabrini showed true devotion to God. Many times on her trips around the world she must showed that she has limitless energy. Mother Cabrini had always wanted to go help teach others her faith but to reach that dream she had to show that she had the virtues of Devotion to God, Sympathy, and Limitless Energy to become a missionary. In the story called Mother Cabrini Missionary to the World by Frances Parkinson Keyes we learn about the amazing journey Mother Cabrini takes to become a missionary to the world.

There are three examples that Mother Cabrini shows she is sympathetic. One example is that she gave up candy and other childish things that the kids of China did not have. This showed sympathy because she felt sorry for the kids of China, because they did not get the things she did. Another example is that she pretended that the little boats that she put flowers in were missionaries going to China. This showed pity because she wanted to help those who did not know God. Finally, she made an orphanage for those who had no family. She showed pity by helping those who were lonely, without a family, without a home, or who were less fortunate then she was. All these show that Mother Cabrini was incredibly kind.

There are three ways Mother Cabrini shows that she is devoted to God. One example is very devoted is that ever since she was a young girl she always wanted to be a missionary in China. This shows faith because she never got to go to china but instead followed Gods destiny and went to the USA. Another way is that she got confirmed when she was seven or eight. This showed ardent because already at a young age she was ready and prepared to become one of Christ's soldiers. Finally, Mother Cabrini helped kids with small pox. This shows devotion because she was not a good nurse but knew that God would have helped these people. This shows that Mother Cabrini was very faithful.
