Free Will and the Existence of God

Within our society, it is usually assumed that we have free will. If you were to ask a random person on the street, they would most likely respond to the question, "Do you have free will or is there Fate" with the affirmation that they make their own decisions, because God gives us free will. Yet in the assumption of the fact that God gave us free will, there is a logical disconnect that most people ignore. How can God exist in a world where we can change the outcome of a situation in a way that is unpredictable to God? It is my stipulation that the Judeo-Christian view of an omnipotent God and free will cannot exist together. Additionally, the believe in an omnipotent God necessarily affirms the concepts of fate, while the believe in free will refutes the existence of a God at all.
Here is the problem as I see it. For an omnipotent God to exist, He by definition must be able to see the future. This means that even before my conception, he knows what choices I will make, and to that effect he knows whether I will follow him or not. Yet if this is true, then that means that I really have no say in the matter. This demands me to be a fatalist, and to deny the existence of a free will.
Yet if I claim that there is free will, then that is to say that I have a choice in whether I follow "Gods plan" or not, and in so doing I can go against him if I choose. However, if I am able to refuse god, then I can interrupt his plan. And if I am able to interrupt his plan then God is not perfect. And a perfect God is not God.
Here is the problem from another angle. If God is not omnipotent, which is to say that if he cannot see exactly what is going to happen at all times, then he can make a mistake. There are things that he does not know, and so there is a chance that he can make a wrong decision. But again, a fallible God is not God.
I'll give an example. Let's say that it is in God's plan that I find the cure for AIDS. He has created me for the purpose of enlightening the world to the one way to rid themselves of the AIDS virus. That is what he has in store for me.
If I have free will, then I can choose at any time to be a sailor, or better yet, to kill myself. I can throw myself into the path of a bus. And if I do that tomorrow, I will have never discovered the cure for AIDS. I have interrupted God's plan, and thus proved that he can make a mistake. He designed something for me but I use my free will to change the course of his plan. That is not to say that he cannot impart the same gift on someone else. He, as God, can create another person and make the cure for AIDS his destiny. But it was meant for me, and thus I have proven him fallible, and disproved his existence.
But maybe it was in God's plan for me to only do a part of the work, and it was really someone else's destiny to put it all together; To truly discover the cure for AIDS. In this case, then I have not really disrupted Gods plan at all. But I have fulfilled my destiny, whether I liked it or not, and thus I have no free will.
This idea is supported even in the bible itself. One of the most well known stories, Peter's denial of Jesus (John 18, 12-27) supports this perfectly. Jesus tells Peter, "The cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice" (John 13, 38) which constitutes a definite prophecy. The motives of Jesus' telling Peter this can be debated all day. Was Jesus' prophecy an act to elect faith in Peter even after Jesus' condemnation? Was his vocalization of the future an attempt to create a Cassandra paradox and avoid Peter's denial of Him? What Jesus' intentions in this were I do not mean to debate in this paper. What is critical in Jesus' actions are three fold, the first of which is the lack of the Cassandra paradox even with the knowledge of the future that Peter had. The Cassandra paradox is the idea that by knowing the future one will change it. For example, if I make the true prophecy that you will be killed when you go home after work, you will be killed. The paradox works under the assumption that would will believe me, and says that in believing me, you will do something like visit your friends on your way home from work to say goodbye, or have one last beer the bar down the street. And in doing this you will have missed walking in on the burglars that were going to shoot you in surprise when you walked in the house. Your knowing the future caused you to change the future and made a prophecy false. Knowledge of the future event should have changed Peter's actions and made the prophecy false. The second important fact to point out is that Peter did not remember Jesus' words until after the denial (which might be why the Cassandra paradox did not occur). This is important because were the story that Peter denied Jesus because Jesus told him he would, it takes Peter's free will away firstly, and secondly it refutes the idea that Jesus was actually making a prophecy. The idea of Jesus' ability to see the future and see what Peter was going to do is critical to the story. And thus is the crux of its application to my argument. Jesus was making a prophecy. He saw what was going to happen, told Peter about it, and then it came to fruition with Peter's realization occurring after his denial. This creates a direct timeline between what is and what will be that is beyond human ability to see. This represents definite proof that God has a definite plan. It was in God's plan for Peter to deny Christ (for whatever debated purpose) and in that Peter had no free will. He could not have chosen not to. We often think "Peter should not have denied Jesus" but we never assess what it would have meant if Peter had chosen not to. What would it mean if Peter had not denied Christ? If Peter would have not denied Christ, then Jesus' prophecy would have been proven wrong. Thus God would have been proven fallible and proven not to exist. The fact that Peter had no choice but to deny Christ is biblical proof that there is no free will.
Another place where this is supported in the Bible is in Exodus with the story of the children of Israel's deliverance from Egypt. Exodus 7:3 through 7:5 reads,
"And I will harden Pharaohs' heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you that I may lay my hand upon Egypt and bring forth mine armies and my people, the children of Israel out of the land by great judgments. And the Egyptians shall know that I am the lord when I stretch my hand upon Egypt and bring out the children of Egypt from among them."
It is a common argument of those that believe in free will that God wishes man to love him of their own minds, and so he will not
