I am a peasant of the 18th century. I feel very discontent and unhappy
about my life. That is because my life is unfair.
I was a common people of the Third Estate, we had no or little land to
Farm, but we had to pay heavy taxes to our lords and to the Christian
Church. We worked day and night, but were poorly paid. The first and Second Estates just belonged to the ruling class. They owned most of the
land in French. They enjoyed political and economic privileges. But they
did not have to pay tax to the government. They were very rich and led a
luxurious life. It is very unfair to our common people! I had no power and
Right, also the freedom of speech, press, assembly and religion. I believed
that everyone was born with some basic natural rights, and people should
always defend the rights and fight for our freedom. Therefore, I suggest to
have a revolution and resist to the government so that it can solve the
problems, and rebelled against the tyranny.
