Gaining Knowledge

When I first started this class I described learning as gaining knowledge and skills to advance in life. I agree with this statement but after taking this class I would say that learning is so much more. It's all about the way you take in the world and all the information that is given to you. Many people learn in different ways. I have learned about my learning patterns and the best way for me to get the most out of school. My learning patterns are Sequence (27), Precision (21), Technical (13) and Confluence (20). When I approach an activity I generally tend to use Precision and Sequence together. In general I can adapt my Confluence to almost any situation but at times taking big risks makes me nervous and I tend to shy away. I almost always try to avoid Technical learning. But throughout this class I have been able to use more Technical learning without getting too overly anxious. I tend to use Sequence and Precision hand in hand. I like to know all the details of an assignment and what is expected of me from start to finish. I like to keep things very organized so I can easily complete a task. Using these two learning patterns I believe has been very beneficial to the jobs I have held and the success I have had so far in school. While taking this class I believe that my organization skills, taking notes and being able to read and research items has made me successful and will continue to make me successful. While taking online classes using my Technical learning skills was almost a must. Since Technical learning is an avoid for me, at times it was hard to push myself to use Technical learning. I was able to push myself out of my comfort zone and complete assignments using technology. I have learned that using all my learning patterns makes me a successful student. I am able to use each learning patterns on different activities. When I first starting looking into the option of online learning I was terrified that I would not be able to get all the information I need. The idea of taking a class and learning all the information from a "computer" made me a little nervous. How was I to get all the information that I needed, what if I had questions and who would I go to for help if needed. The staff at Ashford University has been nothing but encouraging and helpful. After taking this class I have learned about my learning patterns and the best way to use them and succeed in school. I have enjoyed this class, the discussions
