Global Warming
The purpose of this topic is that many scientists are worried about the issue of global warming. Many scientists have proof that there is global warming. In the last century the average tempature has gone up one degree fahrenheit.
Scientist conduct research by measuring the amount that the tempature is increasing or decreasing over the years. Ice in the Northern Hemishphere is melting 9 days faster and the rate it is growing back 10 days later than 150 years ago. The 1900's was the warmest decade recorded sience the 1800's. The hottest years were, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003. The ACIA has come to the conclusion that Alaska, Canada, and Northern Russia's average tempature has increased by 4-7 degrees.
Scientists say that global warming is based on the "greenhouse affect", the gasses are getting released in the atmosphere and it is eating away the o-zone layer. Some say that it is also affecting hurricanes.
What they discovered is important to me because if im alive when something major happens thats due to global warming it can cause trouble in my life or it c an make things worse. It will most likley affect my children and grandchildren which would affect me.
It is important to society because it can change the world, and if it changes the world then that affects society in every aspect. It can upset the balance of nature, and make everything different. We could have a "Water World" and most of the population of the earth would die off. It could make some species
of animals become instinct or it could make some evolve and that could be a good thing or a bad thing but none of us know what is really going to happen.
