"To test a man's true character, play golf with him". This is a fitting quote from P.G. Wodehouse for the game (sport) of golf. Golf can be a frustrating sport at the start, but it can also be a sport of luxury and even a stress reliever. One must put in time, money and effort; money for equipment, time to learn the basics of the game and a conscious effort to maintain your level of play.
Firstly, for the game of golf, you're definitely going to need clubs. Along with clubs, golf balls are also a necessity to play. Although it's not completely necessary to begin playing, you may also want to purchase: tees, a glove, proper shoes and maybe even some fancy golf attire. There are many different factors that go into a golf swing: the right grip, stance, keeping the head down and many more components I won't go into right now. All of this takes nothing but a lot of time and practice to be able to grasp these concepts.
Finally, golf is a game of consistency. To have the satisfying round you're looking for, your swing will need to be as consistent as possible. To obtain consistency in your golf swing, you must first learn the basic and then put in the effort to maintain it. In my experiences with golf I have found that spending long periods of time away from the course tends to lead to a deteriorated swing. Which in turn, usually generated from a lack of effort. With the right amount of effort put in maintaining your golf swing, the more consistency you'll have
