Greater Presence
Kava is a country that has many threats that have proven to be disastrous. The company must become active in helping the people of Kava by volunteering time, supplies and, money to aid the victims. The company must look at the mission and vision and create an atmosphere built around those ideas. The company mission is “to offer each member the right product, at the right time, and delivered the right way”, while the organizational vision is to “stand out as the leading financial institution by listening, by learning, and above all by putting our members first” (My Company, 2008). By using the company mission and vision in planning organizational processes, human resources, and ethics, Kava and the company will both benefit.
Organizational Processes
To better help the people of Kava, the company’s organizational processes need to be revamped in order to work around certain procedures. There are certain rules and regulations that cannot be broken, but there are internal processes and procedures that can be changed in order for the company to assist Kava. When it comes to lending, the people of Kava can really benefit if better rates, longer terms or reduced payments were offered to help them get back on their feet. Normal procedures can be altered so longer terms on certain loan amounts can be offered, in which reduced payments can be offered as well. Certain schedules can also be applied to those that want to lend their help to rebuilding Kava. Instead of working in the office one day, one can work on a project to help Kava and its people. Certain procedures can be taken out to help expedite processes so the company can be more involved in the community. Certain processes can also be looked at to better the Kava environment. The company can really look into recycling things and using fewer resources such as paper and electricity. The company should strategically plan for the future in order to grow and to help the community grow.
Human Resources
Human resources should try to recruit local people to work for the company. The company should create a sense of belonging for these people because they are used to inexpensive, quality labor. Being that there is a wide variety of languages in Kava, the company should hire several people that speak each language to ensure communication is not broken. It is important that the company does what it can in order to raise and donate funds, create volunteer groups, and educate the youth. Being that over 50% of the population is under 15 years of age, education is a must. These children should be taught the importance of the threats to their society, especially HIV/AIDS
