Unfortunately we live in a world that is ruled by wealth, power and material possessions. Our success is measured by what we have instead of what kind of person we are or what is on the inside. Greed changes people, and makes it so people always want more; more money, a better car, a nicer home. We are never satisfied!
Everyone has a little bit of greed in them; some are just greedier than others. People want to keep up with what the rest of the world has. The only problem is those people fail to consider what some do not have and what some are doing without. Sure we all want that brand new expensive car, it would even be nice to have a great big house on the beach but what about the guy on the streets that does not even own a pair of shoes-what about that? That is something we all have to think about when we are being motivated by greed.
I try to surround myself with positive people that are not greedy and try not to be greedy, but sometimes I am. There are times when I feel that I work hard for my possessions and I rather not share or let people use them in fear of someone ruining them or not returning them. That is a form of being greedy. But I am not the type of guy that takes the last slice of pizza when I already had one and three other people have not eaten; I am not greedy like that.
Greed never ends and will always have greed in us, We are human! We all need to stop being so selfish and instead focus on what is important in life because greed makes us lose sight the of who we really are.
