  1. Discuss an issue that you care about.  Present how that issue affects every day Texans and how the Texas government currently handles the issue you care about.  (CT 1)

Texas being a state formed by the settlement Mexican immigrants contains millions of undocumented settlers. Since 2006, Texas’s legislature has sparkled a huge controversy with bills aimed to discourage the illegal immigrants while securing the border by surging the border patrol.

  1. Present two different expert opinions on how the Texas government should handle the issue mentioned in section one.  In addition, lay out the strengths and weaknesses of each side of the argument. (CT 2)
  1. Stop the illegal immigration that's coming into America

Rick Perry, Governor of Texas implies illegal immigration as a “disease” and also states, “You stop the illegal immigration that's coming into America and a lot of these other issues go away. (Dallas News 2017)” He supports the fact that the illegal immigrants comprise the 67% of the total criminal cases in Texas. If we could remove the crime committed unlawful aliens in United States, it would be a safer place. He also acknowledges that Texas’s economy has been developed on the base of the labor of the illegal immigrants.

  1. Safety of the community by deporting individuals convicted for violence

“These international gangs of thugs and drug cartels will be — I promise you, from the first day in office, the first thing I’m going to do, the first piece of paper that I’m going to sign is — we’re going to get rid of these people, Day 1, before the wall, before anything, (Bennett Brian 2017)" says President Elect Trump for a possible solution. As of Rick Perry, he is targeting the unlawful aliens who are committing crimes and are threats to the community. However, he is supporting to the innocent families of unlawful citizens who are themselves or whose descendants are contributing to the State.

  1. After examining the views of experts, which option do you ultimately believe Texas’ government should take in regard to the issue that is the basis of your paper?  What actions should or should not be taken? (CT 4)

I believe as US. House of Representative said, we should get rid of the unlawful residents who have committed crimes but should be firm with the laws for the families and individuals who have a non-criminal background and has contributed to the State of Texas of the US.

Deportation of the convicted should be taken but any actions that might affect the family or the individual themselves who have only breached the law by overstaying in United states due to reasonable reasons should be discouraged.

  1. Based on the research that you have done for this paper, what do you believe will be the consequences of the possible government actions that you mentioned in section three?  Explain why based on evidence.  (CT 5)      

The statistics shown by the Washington post indicates that there could be huge backlash of the employees in the sectors like (leisure and hospitality, construction etc.) and the forecast of “decline of 9 percent in agricultural production and declines of 8 percent in construction and leisure and hospitality over the long term.” This might result in the “decline in manufacturing output of $74 billion over the long term. (Ehrenfreund, Max 2017)”

  1. Describe how the information that you presented in previous sections has affected your views on the issue that is the basis of this paper.  What were some preconceived notions you had about the issue before the assignment and how have they been impacted? (CT 3)

After doing a thorough research on the topics of Immigration and Undocumented Immigrants, the fact that some of the innocent lives are forced to leave the country as a result of the 26th January executive order. I had a belief that unlawful citizens are afraid to appear to the judicial system and hence would be far away from crimes. But, the DPS statistics show that relatively large proportion of the crimes committed (TxDPS - Texas Criminal Alien Arrest Data 2017).
