College vs High School
Lifelong lessons are created in both high school and college. Both experiences allow for memories to last a lifetime. Most students are not fully aware that college is not just another four years of education. In college, students have a bigger responsibility, a bigger social life and a bigger academic challenge. Although high school and college require four years of education, the demands of college are more rigorous.
Life without parents may sound exciting at first, but it will be a challenge. No longer will there be someone to make you do your assignments, make you food, clean up after you and remind you to do things, whereas there would be in high school. Responsibility plays a major role in a college student's life, especially if one lacked responsibility in high school. In high school, students depended on the parents and teachers to remind them to get things done, while in college a student is completely responsible for their own actions. As a college student, it is a must he or she balances their responsibilities and set priorities to get through college.
A social life affects a college student's life more than it affects a high school student's life. In high school there was a good amount of people to interact with; however, being on a college campus, one may notice a more diverse and a wider range of people to interact with. There are pros and cons to meeting a lot of people but being overly social can cause distractions. Since college students are no longer under their parents rules, he or she have more social freedom. Some college students go out every night because it is something they are not use to, but they fail to realize it can really distract them from their studies. High school is not as eventful as college, but with the correct mindset any one can stay on the right track to succeed and get an education.
Yes college is another four years of learning, but the atmosphere differs tremendously from high school. Not only do parents expect their child to do well, a college professor expects the same, if not more from their student. Since professors expect more from college students, nothing will be easy or handed out. There is no such thing as extra credit in college, so college students work twice as hard to get the grade they want.
