"A Day to Remember". Some people also say "ADTR". This is a great band that not many
people know about there music you can listen to there albums anytime no matter what mood your in. When you listen to this music you will find yourself singing there songs all day. These guy formed in Ocala ,FL, which is a pretty rich looking place its very close to Beverly hills and Gainesville. They became a band in 2003. There not known that well but I like it like that cause then I am the only one who can enjoy there great music. There music is so fun to listen to it can really pump you up or some songs can put you to bed. I really like the changes in there songs from hardcore fast pace then they slow down and go back to the hardcore its really coo sounding I like the break downs in the music. I like the heavy use of guitars and drums. If you listen to these guys you might enjoy them it really depends on the type of music you enjoy. I think my favorite song from ADTR is
Monument its really a good song. I really wish they would come to st. cloud or at least st. paul. That is why I pick this band.
The back round of my band was very hard to get because there not known that great but I will try my best to tell you about there lives. The members in the band are Jeremy McKinnon who is the sing he is very good he can go from a soft vocal to a hardcore screaming. On the guitars are Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, the are so skilled its amazing how they play so good to each other and how good they are just by them self. They have a crazy bassist Joshua Woodard he is so good at playing he adds a great noise to the band. Oh and of course they have a drummer named Bobby Scruggs without him they wouldn't have a band because they put a large focus on the drums with solos and such. They started off being there own record label making there first some what "record". But in the spring of 2005 they singed with Indianola Records making there first major record "And Their Name Was Treason" I have to say this is my favorite album but they must not have liked it. The band went on a lengthy DIY tours away from there hometown they did somewhere around 200 shows then by that time they had sold about 8,000 copies
Just by telling people no help from radio or T.V . If you ask me that's so crazy because just thinking about that many people just seems like a lot to me. But it must not have seemed that much to them because they thought they can do bigger and better things that's why they changed record labels after a bands friends said the they had a screen name of someone at Victory Records one band member didn't belive it and that was Joshua Woodard he was quoted saying "I didn't believe him, but I still started communicating with the guy. We IM'ed back and forth for about six months, and it happened that we were playing with the band On The Last Day in a town outside of Chicago--and this guy was going to be there filming it. It was our first time we ever played in Illinois, yet the 50-60 kids there were singing along to our tunes like they'd been fans all their lives. The guy asked if we'd do a showcase for Victory, we said sure, and the rest is a new beginning for A Day To Remember.
Remember I said that was what he said I am not trying to say that was what I said.
ADTR has released two cd's there newest is " For those who have hearts" and there first is is "and their name was treason" that was first sold in may of 05. One of my favorite songs is since you been gone. This song was first sung by former star that everyone knew because Kelly Clarkson
Was on the show american idol. Other then that is there backround.
ADTR is a group that is very different group they have like 5 different styles like ,post hardcore ,pop punk, emo. The meaning of pop punk from wikipedia is as follows : Post-hardcore is typically characterized by its precise rhythms and loud guitar-based instrumentation accompanied by vocal performances that are often executed as whispers or screams. I had no Idea what this was so I had to look it up. Most people call this scremo or emo which scremo is kinda true but emo is not a music style it's a style of life. But getting back to post hardcore it was made in Washington d.c. in 1980's. Post hardcore is fun to listen to cuz it pumps you up before hockey and other sports. Sum major bands in this music is Fugazi, Quicksand,Big black, Hot water, rape man, shellace, and that's most the founding bands. This is made of hardcore punk which is pretty much the same but the real meaning is a subgenre of punk rock that originated in u.s. in the late 1970s. In North America, hardcore punk emerged with a new sound, which was generally
