Homosexual Marriage
Every little kid, boy or girl, dreams about marrying the flawless princess or handsome prince at some point in their life. Growing up people live their lives wanting to find their one and only dream girl, or knight and shining armor. Men and women worldwide thrive for discovering the love of their life and eventually marrying that distinctive person, but imagine if you were told that you couldn't marry the one you love. Unfortunately, this occurs every single day nation-wide with the controversial objection of homosexual marriage. This has been a nationally talked about subject for the last decade or so. In many U.S house-holds same sex marriage is still very frowned upon and probably always will be. Even though, the true meaning of marriage is "A man and woman voluntarily joined for life, or the Nuptial ceremony between a man and a woman" (www.dictionary.com/marriage_definitions). Homosexuality is becoming more and more prominent in today's society. The fact that same sex marriage is presently all too real; the meaning behind marriage must be slightly altered. Many thousands of people are against homosexual marriage, but there is nothing in our Constitution or Declaration of Independence that states that same-sex marriage should be illegal. Same-sex marriage involves two individual persons and according to The Constitution every man and woman are created equal. The fact that The Declaration of Independence, The Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA), and The Constitution of America all support the freedom and individual rights of each citizen; provides the perfect evidence of why same-sex marriage should be legalized nation-wide.
Over the last 236 years America has operated off of freedom, individual rights, and separation of church and state. The Declaration of Independence mentions being "free" four times from beginning to end (http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_transcript.html) and strongly insinuates that every person has the rights to life, liberty, and happiness. With The Declaration supporting life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the U.S should honor their word by allowing people to live in a state of being free within society without oppressive restrictions imposed by authority or government. The previous evidence is clearly connected to life and liberty within The Declaration of Independence because the sanction of happiness involves a fulfilled life of love and having the ability to marry whomever you please. In many cases, happiness is a state of well-being that is characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Considering, love is a profound tender, passionate affection; for another person and happiness is characterized ranging from contentment and joy; love and happiness should go together in all walks of life. This evidence is linked with The Declaration by proving that life, liberty, and happiness cannot be fully achieved if two homosexual people can't express their love for each other by living their life in liberty without marriage. The support from The Declaration of Independence alone is a great reason for belief that homosexual marriage should be permitted throughout the world and specifically the United States.
Secondly, the Federal Marriage Amendment (FMA) supports the truth beyond love, and that matrimony should be shared with the unity of any man or woman, homosexual or heterosexual. Section 3, article 6 of the Federal Marriage Amendment states that "any man or woman unified with love shall have the right, ability, and choice to get married in law" (Pg. 17: Sec 3: Art 6). In the FMA homosexuality isn't necessarily encouraged. However, it is supported, fought for, and protected. The people that are involved in the Federal Marriage Amendment have been working many late hours and several years trying to accomplish a national acceptance of same-sex marriage. Although, according to the bible, homosexuality is considered a sin with the "punishment of spending all eternity in hell for disobeying God" (Christian Annotated Bible, Prov. LEVIE, 18-32). However, The Federal Marriage Amendment doesn't acknowledge the fact that homosexuality is considered a sin to God. The FMA believes that each and every human has Individual rights and personal beliefs, including homosexuals. This is proven when associates involved with the FMA took a "gay rights survey" (Pg. 14, Art 71a http://usgovinfo.about.com/cs/usconstitution/a/marriage.htm) and 93% of the people who took the survey scored in the category that accepted same-sex marriage. These people are the insistent determined people that are needed to accomplish the attempt of legalizing homosexual marriage in the United States of America. Fortunately, the great thing about the legalization of same-sex marriage would be the fact that America would be considered even more of a free country than it is today. In general, the Federal Marriage Amendment is a pronounced source of help when it comes to legalizing same-sex marriage nation-wide
The true definition of the United States being a free country lies in the heart of The Constitution of America. The constitution is our foundation of rights and laws for our country. It is greatly involved with the people's rights in many ways, and this is proven when The Constitution states that "every U.S. citizen is available for a fair trial in life given that all men and woman are given equal individual rights" (The U.S constitution
