Imagine if you are working on a big project for your boss, and you have to manage a group of team in 16 to 17 people plus with your busy schedule and the need to manage the group is kindly impossible. In this article, they will guide you on how to get in the habit of managing every day. If you are a type of person who want to finish your work early, so that to spend some time to yourself , then this article is really a good guide for you. In this article, it is normal if most people think that the busy schedule in the office as an extra burden. In this article, spending time to your ‘real work’ is normal because every human need time to themselves. But do not overused the time until it makes you to neglect your work. Because resting overtime will affect an unexpected problem crop up on a regular basis and as a result, you and your employees get out of shape. Then, these managers can no longer avoid their responsibility and they spring into action. In that point, these manager need to do the work in pressure than before because of the time lateness. The author of this book say that this phenomenon is like ‘managing only when it can never be avoid’. To solve this problem, these managers need to follow the following guides which has been discussed in the article. Because, the only alternative to management by special occasion is getting in the habit of managing every day.
The First Person You Need to Manage Every Day Is Yourself
In this content, the author want you to imagine that you have a poor physical shape. He then ask, that will you run if you are in that situation? The answer will be not, right? Because in this case, the author describe that you need to walk which means begin something with easy steps. The author said to walking first and do training regularly like taking for a walk every day. After several days, of course your body will gain some muscles and you can begin to walk faster. Based on this guide, the author actually teach that to become good in managing, someone need to start doing things by themselves. They need to do it, with their own guts and will. It is normal if you are not comfortable with the new habit. Because taking or learning a new habit normally will make we feel uncomfortable because we are unused to it. That is why the author told us to do it from scratch which means slowly and not in hurry.
In this section, it said that to gain an effective management, someone should practicing and maintaining a new good habit. This habit need to be practise no matter what obstacles come out. Make sure to practice the skills one hour a day until you are already used to the habit. So stop letting yourself off the hook. Even though the habit feel new to you, but stay with your priorities and just be yourself.
In this article, needing the bravery to take guts is important in learning new basics skills. It said that even if you are not familiar with the situation, just push yourself and just do it. But you must know your limit, do not overdo the process because it can affect your emotion. And if you fill like you are not good enough in managing, do not worry , just keep practice and practice until you become excellent with the skills. Do not give up because you will always stuck in your low management skills. And if you feel uncomfortable, learn to live with discomfort because the more you challenge and manage people, the more comfortable you will become, cause you are already used in that situation.
It is normal if you find that the guides are difficult because you are inexperience on it. But just do it, because it works you just have to have guts, discipline and do it one hour every day. This guides are really trust worthy, because the experienced can make you become stronger in facing any upcoming problems. And you also will be able to handle it effectively in confidence and skill.
The Second Person You Need To Manage Every Day Is Everyone Else
The assignment or work in the office need to be check by you as their manager. You need to talk to the employees to check and give setting up for him to success. This article said that there are two different methods of doing interview with your employees. The first one is interview your employees in group. And the next one is interview them one-on-one or face to face. The article said that interviewing your employees one by one is better, because you can criticise and talk to them properly about their work without being disturbed. While if you use group interview, it is harder because some employee can hide between others mistakes. And you cannot tell about their problem in work privately. What worst is you may forgot to criticise on what to say to other employee as you already focussed to another employee before. As a result, one by one interview are more effective if you want to check your employees work than interviewing them in a group.
How Can You Manage Sixteen or Sixty People Every Day?
This segment says that managing many people is almost impossible. Of course you can not do it by yourself and interviewing them one by one. But leaving your work at ease state will make the workers from the management front take your role. If you are not there, these front management will took your role and start to order the employees to work as what he want. This is dangerous, because it will affect your influence. The employee maybe will listen to that front manager more than you. This is dangerous because it can affect the quality of your project. So, by this, do not took easy on your job and be nice to all of your employee so they can give a good cooperation with you. And they will never disobey your order. Give orders to some workers to do some of your job if you do not have much hand left.
