How to Make Baked Potato Soup
Ever get tired eating plain mashed potatoes? There are many different things to do with this wonderful vegetable we call the potato. No more French fries, scalloped potatoes or hash browns. Trying new things can be so life changing at times, this recipe may change the life of many potato lovers. It's the simplicity of combining two amazing, mouthwatering entrees into one explosion of greatness in our tummy. One could be forgiven for wanting to eat this every day. May the soup and baked-potato lovers unite!
Going to the grocery store will be the first priority. May the force be with you as you trudge through the holiday excitement at Wal Mart. Bring those elbows high and grip that basket tight. Along with the rest of the eight ingredients, the search is on for a medium yellow onion. This will create a wonderful aroma and help shed many tears while preparing. The crispness of the yellow onion can provide the soup with a very distinctive flavor and it gives a nice texture to the soup. Not to mention you may need a few Tic Tacs for later if you know what I mean. While looking for the onions go ahead and grab five medium garlic cloves. Nothing says do not kiss me more than the mixture of garlic and onion, might as well grab a rather large bottle of Listerine while you're at it.
There is no such thing as a baked potato without the bacon. Yes, the world's most popular food item, (Okay, okay, that may or may not be made up - but in any case it SHOULD be the world's most popular food item) is a perfect focal point for food. Sure many of you out there think this as well, so if bacon is thrown into the mix, then everyone is satisfied. Grab a whopping pound slab of fat laced, thick and juicy bacon.
