With gas prices at record high wouldn't it be smart to either walk, bike, car pool or even ride the bus. Well with egger student as you selves getting your license is a new cool thing and it puts an offal end to riding the so called "Loser Cruiser" or the giant "Hostess ", well where's the cream filling right.
Students as your selves or even an adult to day might be thinking that a new fuel efficient car might be better. Well you might want to think again and just stick with the bus or car pooling with a friend. The new hybrid car that's made to be fuel efficient may make you buy less gas and have lower maintenance costs, but insurance costs can offset those savings, and hybrids generally cost more than conventional gasoline cars.
Conventional gasoline cars now a days get an average of 21 miles per gallon depending on what kind of car or truck you drive...( *Cough* "Chevy Powa ). Or if you drive one of those little Geo Metros you could get up to 30 miles per gallon. Yes 21 miles per gallon might be a burden on your wallet to some people but compared to the 50 miles per gallon of a hybrid you get about the same total expenses.
There are obvious benefits to owning a new hybrid car like helping the environment but it comes at a price more then one would think. Although you do save money on buy gas hybrids tend to cost more from a dealership. There're many factors when buying a car that it might be better buy not do something good for everyone and leave the environmental hugging to the people that can afford it until prices of a hybrid go down.
