I am Eragon, the fiction tale of fantasy. The adventure of Eragon starts when Eragon finds a polished blue stone in the forest, he thinks it is the lucky discovery of a poor farm boy; possibly it will buy his family meat for the winter. Eragon soon finds the stone is a dragon egg, it begins hatching and Eragon soon realizes he has stumbled upon a legacy nearly as old as the Empire he lives in itself.

Over night his simple life is shattered with horrific events, and he is thrust into a perilous new world of destiny, magic and power. All he has is an old sword and the advice of an old storyteller for his guidance, Eragon and the dragon must make it though dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a kind whose evil knows no bounds.

Eragon's adventure would pull anyone into reading about him, and personally I've found this novel completely mesmerizing. The writing it self is incredible, and the perils are made real to the imagination. I first read this book over summer school 2004. It is the one reason I received a B in my Chemistry class, I found that I couldn't put it down, and therefore wasn't able to pay attention in class. Since I have read it two or three times. The story never becomes old; it always seems to make you antsy when the stakes are high. Eragon has me look at other novels more critically, and also makes me enjoy other novels. Many will chose history, others inspirational, but where is the fiction? Where would we be without fiction in our world? Eragon was my choice because it is not only a piece of fiction, but beautifully written, enjoyed by many, and a work of art in it's self. In the novel Eragon the most touching thing is what young Eragon goes through at such a young age. He learns so much, and becomes so much just in the first novel. He has so much more to go through in the next two novels coming out. What touched me most is the relationship he grows with his dragon, it is loving and caring.

How do you choose one book that should be preserved in society? It would be one of the hardest decisions to make in life. I chose this novel over the rest because of its elegancy with action. The adventure is one of a kind, the fun is never ending, lessons are learned, and you get to watch
