Safety Hazards
- Damaged wiring – electrical
- No ventilation in the container when painting – working in confined space
- Possibilities of explosion due to vapor of liquids used when painting the containers
- Accidental falls when painting the container from 40 feet – falling from height

- Rashes due to unwashed uniforms

03. Identify the improvements to the external and internal environment
External Environment
- Having tar roads
- Proper draining system to prevent water stagnating
- Pest control to be done periodically
- Increase the no. of spot light and repair the broken ones
- Re do the wiring for the external environment
- Have a water dispenser
Internal Environment
- Have a ventilation for working in confined space
- Schedule a roster for manual workers
- Provide a rest room with facilities within the premises
- Provide the lockers in the restroom which is in the proximity of the workstation
- Design a Safety Policy, implement and monitor by Safety Supervisor / Manager
- Increase the no. of first aid boxes within the premises under the supervision of the safety supervisor
- Provide training of Health and Safety.

- Executive staff are given a Travelling Allowance
- A pint of milk are given to all Heavy Vehicle drivers and machine operators
- Uniforms are provided
- Lockers are provided
- Safety helmets, shoes and PPE equipment are provided
- A laundry man is allocated to was the uniforms
- A vehicle is provided for tea vendors
- First aid box is available
- Drinking water for Office & Operation staff
- Visiting of a medical Doctor to the yard on day shifts
- Medical reimbursements
- Posters on Accident prevention and safety Management are displayed in the yard
- Transport arrangements for latter category staff
Suggestion Plan
- Have a water dispenser
- Provide incidental allowance whoever goes to the port
- Implement incentive scheme for each category
- Change the vendor for washing employee uniforms
- Build a small cafeteria so employees can buy and have their meals without difficulty
- Assign a team for health and safety and appoint 2 safety officers for the site. The respective officers can take turn and should be available in the night too.
- Provide training of health and safety
- First aid training should be given to all staff
- First aid boxes should be placed every 30m as per the Factory Ordinance
