It can be argues that telling myth is one of the most important thing humans can do. Every one in every culture in any time has a myth to tell. Put all the stories or myth together you get the subject of "mythology". These stories are usually about heroes, gods, monsters, and other forces of nature.

To understand myths you need to understand the traits of humans. You see myths can be beautiful, charming, humors, and creative. On the other hand they can also be cruel, prejudice, violent, and plain absurd. So you see that you can read a myth and see human chartists because people told myth in the way the saw people.

One important thing to remember .Mythology is a religion or is apart of a religion. Some of these religions are not in existence any more, and others are practice by millions around the world.

Greek mythology is the most famous and important mythology there is in my opinion. Is it the basic form of mythology? I think so. I mean it all started here. It is what you learn in elementary school.

But the Greeks only one flaw in these great stories, they did not keep there myths consistent. You could read one myth and go read another one about the same thing and it is totally different. The Greeks weren't really looking for the answer more like an answer.

There is one myth they did keep consistent, the creation myth. And that was not pretty businesses. Because of all the nastiness between the humans and the gods the gods and themselves, according to the Greeks. It was all about getting and keeping the upper hand.

Many short version of this story is old gods who were the sons and daughter of earth and sky, they had children ( who were younger and so much more beautiful) , there children rebel and over throw there parents, then they created human; then the humans got brains and tried to screw over the gods. The humans got lucky a few times. Then in the they got more and more miserable.

You can see the cause and effect of many event. You can even notice that they can mimmic history today. In wars and polotics, it all can be seen. So stories of to days events, Can be infulce to other myth. That can changes the life of the younger geration. So do you think Greek myth are important to day?
