Inception
This is a science fiction movie about Dom Cobb, who is skilled thief and he steals valuable information from deep within the subconscious unconscious during people's dream states. The movie uses a lot of materials of technologies, such as the time and plot changes a lot. This is a perplexing movie. Composer Hans Zimmer scored all the music. The music type includes orchestral music, string music and electronic music. Music fits different scenes very well, and it brings different feelings to the audiences.
One of my favorite music called Mind Heist. This music just like tells you a story that as same as the process of the protagonist steals people's dreams. The music can mobilizes my subconscious, and takes me into a special dream that only set up for me. The music starts in a melody of cello and violin, it sounds full of mysterious and intrigues. It also suggests there is a kind of hidden crisis and much tension around this plot that is a contest of intellectual and unusual. Then the drumbeats join in the music. It emphasizes the beginning of the story--the conspiracy is going on. The drumbeat becomes more intensively. Suddenly, some notes impact the main melody, and eases the heavy atmosphere. The drums gradually disappear, it means this music is over soon, and the plot changes, too.
The scene about Cobb shuttles in different dreams. I think music around this scene is really good. The music has progressive relationship, the rhythm is very clear. I can feel Cobb's feeling, which is a sense of urgency to complete the task in the dream. Suddenly, the music stops for couple seconds. The pause lets me realize that just a dream. It is not true! The second half melody only uses several notes, it sounds smoothly and it end of the sad atmosphere.
