Best Game Production
In this paper I will be discussing the dilemma that Best Game Productions is facing in developing a videogame that have been highly anticipated by all stakeholders that supposed to be released within a month and the highly anticipated game that will have management make ethical decisions to shelve or release the product due to bugs that have been found during the trial release period. Best Game Productions is face with a major dilemma that have to be addressed within this paper. I will addressed the issues that Best Game is facing of providing a new video game on time and by identifying the needs, motivations and perceptions of all stakeholders and how my decision on the issue will affect all stake holders within the company (Univeristy of Phoenix, 2014).
Best Game Business Scenario
Best Game Productions is in the process of their new release of their sequel video game that is very anticipated by the consumers and stakeholders and the release of this game has generated massive revenue for their previous releases. The company has generate more buzz for this game's release, the company has offer the opportunity for reviewers to play the game and discuss the game with the public. There has been a major dilemma discover during the review of the game of a bug that diminishes the quality of the product. Even though people can still play the game the quality of the game will not be up to standards. Marketing has been doing a great job advertising and creating much anticipated hype of the game. Even though all seems to be good from the advertising and anticipation of the product. The company is force to make hard decision is that will they release the game to maximize profits or will they move the release back after the holidays and fix the problem with the bug. If they move the release date back then the company will forfeit profits over the holiday sales and will have the opportunity make up ground (Univeristy of Phoenix, 2014).
As the manager of Best Games Production our organization will go into crisis management and risk assessment since all organizations are vulnerable to crisis situations. Our health and long term ability to functions as a company will be decided on how we manage this crises and this is crucial to our reputation (Sarow, M.S., Stuart, B.E., & Stuart, L. (2007) p.328)
Internal and External Stakeholders
The difference between the internal and external stake holders are that the internal stakeholders are the ones that or affected by the business performance, such as the company's developers, quality control, marketing, public relations and finance employees. The Internal and stakeholders will be affected by the organizations decision on how to handle this dilemma. In addition, to the customers, the developers, quality control, marketing, and a host of other departments will be affected by the decision. Best Game Productions have a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to its stakeholders and shareholders. In order for Best Game Productions to satisfy all the stakeholder's and shareholder's demands, our company must devote resources to solve the issue at any cost in order to make the release date a reality to satisfy our shareholders and stakeholders and most importantly our customers (Erhemjamts, O. Qian, L. Venkateswaran, 2012).
The External stakeholders are individuals, groups, and organizations that are not directly affected by the business's performance. These parties are not directly involved in decision, stock brokers, potential investors, etc. making and other business affairs and, therefore, may or may not be affected by the company's decisions or operations. External stakeholders include government entities, the general public, community businessmen, politicians, analysts (Olivia, 2011).
