Grey's anatomy is a drama series documenting the life of a group of doctors within a hospital. The show takes place within the fictional hospital, “Seattle Grace”. As the show evolves and seasons go by, the show illustrates the process of becoming a surgical doctor.

Surgeons keep in contact with one another through pagers. This technology is seen throughout the episode, and sends off a beeping noise whenever a doctor is attempting to call or “page” you. At any time, an intern can be paged. The job of a surgical is seen to always be on call throughout the first episode. George O’Malley, after failing his appendectomy, complaining about how hard it is to be a surgeon, says that a much easier profession choice would've been Geriatrics. I immediately remembered discussing geriatrics in class, being the care of elder people.
