The invasion of Iraq was Pointless

After reading the two stories one author made his points cleared on why he felt America should not have went to war and the other felt going to war with Iraq was a good decision. The first author was Jimmy Carter, he felt America apparent determination to launch a war against Iraq, without international support violated America greatest. Whereas Elie Wiesel the second author felt America going to war with Iraq was to prevent terrorism. He also said Iraq had weapon of mass destruction and was planning to attack America.

The stated reason for the invasion of Iraq was that Saddam possessed weapon of mass destruction and was prepared to use them against Israel, Iraq's other neighbors, and possibly America. There are some that believe that the real reason why America invaded Iraq are found in events and policy development that happened before the invasion but which were never revealed to the American public.

The main reason for the invasion of Iraq was, America wanted to ensure that the dollar remained unchallenged as the world's reserve currency, so that the United State could continue to fund its massive deficits and sustain its economy and its political and military supremacy.

The taught is what the dollar has to do with all this and how does the invasion of Iraq fit into picture. According to Jonathan Schell a writer, who wrote saying Saddam sealed his fate in September 2000, when he demanded that all Iraq oil sold under the United Nation oil for food program must be paid for euros rather than dollars. Saddam action was a direct threat to the supremacy of the United State dollars as the world's reserve currency and the ability of the United State to continue its massive deficits.

The fact that couple months after America invaded Iraq, the oil for food program was terminated and all of the Iraqi euro accounts were switched back to dollars. No longer did the world have the option of buying oil from Iraq and paying for it in euros. This invasion left people thinking America main purpose for invading Iraq was for oil not weapon of mass destructions or terrorism.

If anyone thinks that the purpose Iraq got invaded was a good fact, they should think about how many innocents lives had been lost in Iraq. They should think about thousands American soldiers had been killed and are still dieing everyday because America is refusing to withdraw
