IS DISNEY EVIL?

Do you remember back when you were an impatient five year old, and The one thing that could calm you down was to sit in front of a Disney movie? Well, I for one, remember those days quite clearly. Yet, over a decade later, we are forced to believe that all Disney movies have two things in common: undeniably catchy tunes, and evil hidden messages. Yes. Hidden Messages. And for this reason, there's a strong possibility that five year old girls will not have the comfort of falling asleep at night knowing there's a charming prince awaiting her. Why? Because these movies might be taken off the shelves.

Who are we to judge these movies, when it took us decades to notice any of these messages? How many times have I watched Aladdin, without even getting a clue that he says 'All good teenagers take off your clothes' or that there are pornographic images in the sky, if I played connect the dots with the stars? What five year old would purposely pause the Aladdin video, while Jasmine is singing A Whole New World, just to play connect the stars? Most kids are already embarrassed from looking at the love birds when they kiss, I doubt they're looking for porn in the background. If I, a 17 year old Disney lover have not yet noticed half of the subliminal messages in the Disney movies, how can we expect five year olds to notice them? It looks like people have been so brainwashed by possible subliminal messages, that they completely ignore the possibility that this phrase was simply meant to rhyme.

How about good ol' Alice in Wonderland. She's been controversial for how long now? Okay, We cannot pretend that the caterpillar is not sitting on a mushroom, having psychedelic images in his head while he is smoking up. As a teen, this makes me chuckle, but how can it be considered a subliminal message? How many 7 year old kids do you know have gone out to do drugs after watching Alice in Wonderland? I doubt kids live their lives according to cartoon characters and talking animals--do young children run around topless because they saw a naked woman's silhouette in the Rescuers? Did you personally go out and try to have sex after watching the Lion King, and seeing the word sex appear in the dust? I just think many people are being too paranoid about these images. These so-called subliminal messages should not even be considered so--for they do not subconsciously tell people to act in such a way. Most of them are simply for adult enjoyment, that is, if they are not simply a part of our imagination.

Well, what about Ariel. Who would even believe a mermaid knows anything about sex? According to
