Homework
Homework is assigned daily. Students having incomplete assignments are assigned a homework zero. For every two missed assignments one point is deducted from the quarter's final grade. Students are expected to keep a notebook and keep class notes in the notebooks. Notebooks are reviewed weekly.
Participation
Each student is graded on class participation and pronunciation. More credit is received if the student attempts to speak Spanish in a conversation with classmates and the teacher.
Test Policy
Quizzes cover grammar and vocabulary and are given once or twice a week. Tests are given at the end of each unit.
Projects
Students will be assigned projects and reports on the Hispanic culture, historical and social themes, the ecology of the flora and fauna and archaeology of the Hispanic world.
Extra Help
Extra help is available before homeroom and after school Monday through
Thursday.
Grading
The student's grade will be based on a variety of assessments- homework, participation, pronunciation, skits, compositions, quizzes, tests, culture projects and reports. Each level of Spanish will have a research project:
+Spanish II - Spanish conquistadors and the indigenous Latin American civilizations.
+Spanish III- Coto Donana and its ecosystems and environmental issues.
+Spanish IV- Miguel de Cervantes and Don Quijote
