Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), abbreviated as KFC is one of the largest fast food restaurant chains in the world. It is present in more than 70 countries. Colonel Harland Sanders founded it. It has more than 11,000 branches all over the world. It prides itself as a restaurant that gives customers great tasting chicken.

The fast food industry is a very regulated one. It is pressured by consumers, government agencies and special interest groups to offer healthier options especially for children. KFC is being sued for frying its chicken in cooking oil that contains train's fatty acids and contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), which may lead to heart diseases and diabetes. Tran's fat raised people's blood cholesterol about as much as saturated fat did because trans-fatty acids are not listed on food labels, they are invisible to consumers. With negative effect of this to people, KFC has been faced with problems in terms of following ethics of business and finding ways to address these kinds of problems

In the year 2003, People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organisation associated with Ethical Treatment of Animals found a video exposing KFC supplier abuse chicken by cruel trick. The video showed that, the staff cut wings of chicken, slamming them to wall, punching them as sandbags, kicking them like football. During slaughter the chicken throats are slit and dropped into tanks of hot water while they are still conscious i.e., abusing chicken alive to death and then gave to outlet frying as delicious fried chicken

PETA protested against this practice of KFC and following an ad (Health Card) .In July this year Adverting standards Authority found the Ad misleading customers as it gave an idea that fresh chicken is delivered to KFC outlets on daily basis.
