Introduction
Since 1975, Lafleur Trading Company has supplied the world with the finest foods and wines. We have trading partners across the planet including China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Ukraine, India, and many more.
We supply healthy organic food, to select buyers and exporters. We offer a wide variety of meats, vegetables and seafood. We decided we need to redesign our website to a more interesting and modern site. A Fresh innovative redesign will help boost our sales and bring more customers to our site.
We will incorporate the latest technologies into our site to make your browsing experience a great one.
Our employees are the lifeblood of this company, without them we wouldn't be in business today.
Our new site will offer more vibrant colors, and more info about our products. We will even include a feedback page to allow our customers to let us know how we are doing.
The new redesigned site will bring in more traffic and sales. We have incorporated input from our customers and our tech team to redesign the site. We feel that redesigning from within, will help keep our integrity and reputation intact and bring the freshest and newest innovative design available.
Lafleur Trading Company Website Strengths and Weaknesses
Layout, Color
The design principles on the Lafleur's website are basic and utilize many of the fundamentals of web design. The design grips the primary audience by focusing on the needs and interest. Some of the strengths of the website are the design and the colors. They have a type of fluidity and elegance.
Font Selection
The font itself is easy to read and to visualize, and is basically consistent throughout the site. The font on the white background could make for hard viewing for users with vision problems.
Navigation
The navigation plan seems all connected and easy to follow.
Performance
Improvements can be made by expanding on the product information and adding more information about wholesale purchasing. The purpose of the site is clearly identified and easily accessible to potential customers. Overall the site is set up fairly consistently and flows nicely with the content. The website should incorporate a feedback page for suggestions for viewers to leave comments.
The text and graphics used can be improved by adding flash and more links versus posting a mass amount of information on one page.
Information on the home page clearly states the company's mission statement along with contact information. Possible improvements would be to include an automatic link that takes the customers directly to Outlook. Legal information such as disclaimers can also be added to give the company legitimacy. Content of the site leaves a little to be desired because of the lack of prices and extensive product details. The website needs a general description of the products instead of just the names of the products. Explaining what each product is and possibly showing the user a picture would be helpful. Having a lot of graphics can slow a site down but having a basic idea of what the product looks like would be a nice touch.
