Led Zeppelin formed out of the Yardbirds. The Yardbirds had three of Britain's greatest guitarist Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds made a name for themselves in London's rapidly exploding R&B circuit. Jimmy Page was the last member in the Yardbirds and the first member in Led Zeppelin. In the Yardbirds final days the band deserted Page with the rights to the song and the responsibility for the upcoming tour.
Jimmy Page now faced with completing the tour alone had to hurry to form a new one. He hired John Paul Johns, Robert Plant, and John Bonham together they formed The New Yardbirds. They fulfilled the concerts and tours left behind by the old Yardbirds. After Keith Moon, drummer with The Who, heard of the new band he suggested, "You'll go over like a lead Zeppelin". The band later changed its name from the New Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin.
Late in 1968 the band secured a contract with Atlantic Records in the United States. Led Zeppelin set out on their first American tour in 1969. Led Zeppelin released its first album Led Zeppelin in January of that year. Two months after its release Led Zeppelin climbed into the U.S. Top ten. The band recorded their second album while on tour through both England and the U.S. Led Zeppelin II was an immediate hit topping the charts after two months of after being on the market. Led Zeppelin did tour to support Led Zeppelin III and Led Zeppelin IV but they played fewer shows than they did on previous tours. Hard Rock generally includes a blues-based structure, with electric guitars. The instruments that make up the genre are an electric guitar, electric bass, and a drum set. To say exactly what hard rock is would be impossible. Every new band takes the genre and twists it to fit their style. For example Led Zeppelin's interpretation of hard rock will be different than The Rolling Stones interpretation.
Led Zeppelin had a very unique musical form. They were like the Beatles in that they experimented with different sounds and instruments. They are different in the fact that the Beatles experimented more with lyrics and Led Zeppelin experimented more with instruments and sound. They fall under the genre of hard rock, but in truth their music is so many different things it's hard to say exactly what it is. All My Love starts off as a classical song in how it sounds then after a few seconds they put in the drums and the guitars. Their musical taste doesn't stick to any rules.
