The low class is one of the three social classes, which is placed at the bottom of the social structure. This social class includes groups such as the poor, the homeless, and those who are in poverty. People of all different race and gender could fall into this group; some are even born into the poor social class. Living in the poor class is very difficult because of the person's struggle to earn money to be able to provide for their families. Work is difficult to find for people in the poor class due to lack of education because families are unable to provide enough money to send their children to college. Because many families in the poor social class are unable to find jobs, the government aides the family. There have been many programs that have been available to help the low income homes. These programs include FDR's New Deal, which the government produces more jobs that required little skill and available to the poor. Social Security, which is not welfare, is also adopted and is where you pay while you work and when you for some reason become unable to work, you will have the money that was taken from you when you worked. Housing is also available for the homeless and the poor. The AFDC (Aid to Families with Dependent Children) and Welfare gives federal money to the homeless and poor, and helps them get back on their feet. Despite all the help the government provides for the low class families, there are still many people living on the streets due to being homeless and living in poverty.
