Machines and technology are the two combinations that push my childhood imagination to the limit where no walls are in front of my imagination. I realise my interest in engineering started to grow strong as my father himself was always surrounded with machines. With my interest specifically aiming towards a new invention, I started to become envious of the world as some of my dreams had already been invented by someone else, like the usage of an electrical car powered up totally by a rechargeable battery that uses nature itself to harness energy. I wish to become a mechanical engineer as it will allow me to make my dreams come true. Learning is a process of working as I am targeting to finish up my studies fast until I get a degree and then start to take a job and form a team of researchers to invent things.
My interest in machinery inventions during childhood was enlightened more during my high school years where I somehow managed to take advantage of my skills and entered the school's robotic team where we started to build different kinds of robots using only Lego pieces. Also, when I was in college, I extended my skills and tried to invent something all by myself for my Extended Essay whose purpose serves to harvest water energy using the rain channels around houses. This is just an application of using machines to generate energy using raw nature itself but in our own houses. With all my craziness in this whole invention thing, I managed to build up a sense of appreciation towards the Earth and Mother Nature as I was very sad seeing the Earth dying. By reading a lot of science based magazines such as National Geographic and watching the Discovery Channel, I learned a lot about future inventions and it triggered my spirit to become a better inventor than anyone that I have ever seen.
In early high school at the age of 13, my team and I already gained great pleasure for ourselves as we managed to become one of the representatives of Malaysia in the APICTA or known as the Asia Pacific ICT Awards where we invented a robot that can be used in many ways such as in the military as a human sacrifice to detonate a bomb. Obtaining the experience to see other people's inventions triggered me to invent and make new innovations in the future. I also managed to improve my mathematical thinking skills by participating in the National Mathematical Olympiad where I realised that so much of math is not only about numbers. It struck me that it
