Introduction.
I experienced management in practice during my work experience and noticed that management involves a lot of skills. All these skills include what the business is setting out to achieve (i.e. their aims and objectives), how they persuade others to help achieve them, and checking to make sure these objective are reached. Management is also about leading the organisation and giving direction to employees.
This course work will report a detailed report on Orpington's college and the role of management with in the college. Firstly I will identify the aims and objectives
I will translate these aims and objectives in to SMART objectives.
Every business has a way of monitoring their performances which will decide on future planning. I will see to the way in which Orpington College set their goals. I will discuss their organisational chart, leadership styles, business culture, the motivational aspect of the business, and the role of their managers in planning
As part of management, I will include what makes a good manager, I met people who are difficult to work with and those that are easy, this will explain the attributed skills that a good manager have and importance of communication. Effective communication of staff will get a good result for them.
Management knowledge will be included. One of the management's roles is having good knowledge about the business and providing advice about what is best for future.
I will conclude all the information's I got and explain how successful the management in Orpington College is.
Management:
Management can be defined as those people who are collectively or individually responsible for running a business or organisation. A management includes a leader and a manager. A manager has a list of things he is to do while a leader doesn't wait for a list of things he will do. Decisions are taken by a leader.
Management can either be effective or in-effective.

Orpington College offers students an opportunity to learn, train, socialize and have fun in a great atmosphere that brings learning to life.
Orpington is the choice for hundreds of students every year who go for huge range of courses that suit a range of abilities, interests and ambitions.

During my work experience all these were seen around the college. The college also claimed that Commitment, responsibility and respects are their watchwords which I also observed during my experience.
Mission Statement
Their mission is to deliver the highest quality learning and skills training according to individual educational needs and employment demands. The college's mission links the quality of the learning experience to the future success of the learner, and is supported by four aims designed to widen participation and meet the needs of learners from increasingly diverse backgrounds.
