What is Cannabis? Why isn't it accepted in our society? Why is it looked down upon? Cannabis, also known as marijuana and by numerous other names, is a preparation of the Cannabis plant intends for use as a psychoactive constituent of cannabis is THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol). It's one of 483 known compound in the plant including 84 other cannabinoids. Many Americans ask themselves "why is marijuana illegal?" "Why is tobacco legal and it's a more dangerous drug?" Cannabis has both good and bad uses. Even though it is supposed to be used for medicinal purposes, it is often consumed for its psychoactive and physiological effects. Marijuana legalization could be good for the state economy, would produce new jobs, raise millions for construction of Colorado public schools and all other places it's legalized in.
There are many myths on Marijuana, it is a plant, to society it is a drug, because someone just had the urge to smoke a plant that sprouted from the ground and as a result he started feeling some type of way and never forget (he actually did though) Cannabis is often abused for the psychoactive and physiological effects. Impaired motor skills, reddening of the eyes and feelings of paranoia and anxiety were some physical effects after smoking cannabis. Some mental effects are heightened mood or euphoria, relaxation, increase in appetite and unwanted short term memory. Many myths about marijuana are Myths for the sole reason that people that have never used it say all these things about it. People say it causes people to become forgetful and lazy, they take it the wrong way. Cannabis is more potent today than it was in the past, this still can be proven. Some spectators say it is a highly addictive drug but I believe the crime rate for marijuana use would be high if that was true.
The legalization of marijuana is one of the top 10 hot topics in America. Many Americans question "why is it illegal" while other drugs like alcohol is legal. Alcohol use contributes to aggressive and violent behavior, Marijuana does not. It's crazy how it's a major factor in violent crimes.
